Newsletter Term 6

Welcome back to term 6 in Wrens. Can you believe it is the last term of this academic year? It has flown by so fast and the children have all worked really hard and made such wonderful progress. We are so very proud of them all and are super excited to see how they will continue to grow and develop during their time with Miss Harney in Year One.

Projects and Plans

This term our learning will be based around the topic of; ‘Minibeasts’.

The children will be taking part in lots of exciting and challenging activities including;

  • § Growing our own caterpillars and watching as they transform into beautiful butterflies.
  • Reading, listening to and re-enacting stories such as ‘The Very Hungry Caterpillar’, ‘The Bad Tempered Ladybird’ and ‘Super Worm’.
  • Using these stories as inspiration for our own creative writing.
  • Using the nature garden and school grounds to go on minibeast hunts.
  • Using insects to further our number work with a variety of counting, adding and subtracting activities.

We will also be preparing for our Wrens’ Class Assembly (Friday 22nd June), joining in with the School’s Sports Week and Sports Day and we have a Summer walk to the local park planned for later in the term too. Hopefully we will all have a wonderful last term together filled with lots of exciting and memorable days.
